Welcome on the website of Walkabouts. Walkabouts is inspired by the Aborigines, the indigenous people of Australia. From time to time they go on walkabout, a common usage, walking spiritual long walks through their environment. The purpose is to renew the contact between people and their environment and history.

Walks and specials

The organisation offers walks through Amsterdam. Two of them are specials, the Concert Walk on Friday morning and the Miraculous Walk on Friday afternoon. It is also possible to book these walks without the special cultural activities. Walkabouts also offers walks in Leiden, Alkmaar and Haarlem. The guide is providing you with information about architecture and history of that specific part of the city.

Arrangements for organisations and private persons

An arrangement is focused on your wishes as a group. A walk is always included and might be combined with a teambuilding workshop ( painting-, singing-, theatersport activities), business meeting, concert, lunch, picknick, dinner, pubcrawl or hightea. In case of a bad weather scenario there are umbrellas available.

Cooperation

Walkabouts combines walks with music, art, eating out, workshops and meetings. The organisation cooperates with The Bethaniën Convent, Hofje van Wijs, purveyor of coffee and tea to the Royal Household, Arti et Amicitiae , Galerie Gaia, Polanen Theatre in Amsterdam. Additionally Walkabouts cooperates with Dine and Wine in Renkum, De Poort in Leiden, grand café De Studio in Alkmaar, café De Waag  and KZOD ( Art is our goal-Kunst Zij Ons Doel) in Haarlem.
